Oklahoma Animal Control to Remove ‘Furries’ Found at School

In Oklahoma, Republican legislator Rep. Justin Humphrey introduced a bill that would ban furries from public schools and allow animal control to apprehend individuals who disobey the legislation. The bill would require guardians or parents to pick up their furry-identifying children from school, or else animal control services would be contacted to remove the student. While Humphrey did not specify what behavior would result in a student being expelled, he referenced a bogus report about a Michigan school district offering litter boxes to furries. Furries are individuals who identify as animals and enjoy anthropomorphism, with around 250,000 in the United States. In Florida, some school board members are also attempting to prevent pupils from dressing like furries, with concerns about meowing and barking in school premises.
