‘Gay furry hackers’ say they’ve disbanded after raiding Project 2025’s Heritage Foundation

Hacktivist group SiegedSec has claimed to have disbanded after leaking 2GB of files from The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. The group, known as “gay furry hackers,” targeted the organization in response to its promotion of Project 2025, a plan outlining a far-right agenda for the federal government. Project 2025 includes rolling back environmental protections, privatizing healthcare services, and expanding executive branch powers. SiegedSec criticized the plan as authoritarian and threatening to abortion healthcare and LGBTQ+ communities. The group also released messages allegedly sent by the Heritage Foundation’s executive director, Mike Howell, which included derogatory remarks towards the hacktivists. The Heritage Foundation has not responded to inquiries about the data breach or the alleged conversation with SiegedSec.
